Keep a spare set of cheap reading glasses in your fly vest. Make it 0.5+ stronger than what you would normally use.
If you loose your glasses, clipons etc. you can miss a whole day’s fishing, which could be your best day, if you cannot see the tippet and the hook eye to thread the tippet.
The stronger glasses is chosen if your sight deteriorates and you need the glasses 6 months down the line. They will still be strong enough for you to thread a hook.
If your eyes are still OK, the stronger glasses will help you to see better by holding the hook closer or further away.
